Revive Retreat | september 11th - 14th | Black forest, colorado

A sacred space for moms raising children with disabilities

You’re invited to step away from the weight of daily caregiving….

…and into God’s presence for rest, renewal, and revival.

This isn’t just another women’s retreat.
It’s a holy pause. A forest sanctuary. A Spirit-led weekend designed specifically for moms raising children with disabilities who are tired, tender, and holding more than anyone knows.

At Revive, you’ll encounter:

  • Faith-rooted teaching that speaks into your real-life challenges
  • Space for worship, reflection, and silence
  • Community with other moms who get it
  • A deeper understanding of God's presence in the midst of it all

This is where your soul gets to breathe again.

“But He knows the way that I take; when He has tested me, I will come forth as gold.”
— Job 23:10

We believe this retreat is a refining fire moment—where God doesn’t just comfort the weary, but calls them back to life.

Do you feel

Like you're constantly advocating, managing, and explaining, while feeling unseen in your own story?

Emotionally torn between fierce love for your child and quiet grief for the life you imagined?

Disconnected from God, wondering where He is in the middle of diagnoses, therapies, and sleepless nights?

Guilty for craving space away, even though you know your soul needs it?

Like caregiving has slowly buried the parts of you that once felt fully alive?

If so, you’re not alone.
And more importantly, you’re not forgotten.

Revive is a weekend created to meet you right there,

in the tension of being faithful and exhausted.

Reviving Strength in the Storm

When exhaustion feels endless, God meets us there.

Restoring Hope in the Unknown

When the future is uncertain, God’s promises are still sure.

Renewing Purpose in Every Season

When identity feels buried under caregiving, God still calls you by name.

What can you expect?

This isn’t a packed agenda. It’s a sacred pause. The Revive Retreat is intentionally slow, simple, and Spirit-led, designed to give your heart room to breathe and your soul space to hear from God.

Here’s what you can expect:

Biblically grounded teaching that speaks directly to the realities of parenting a child with disabilities—without sugarcoating or overspiritualizing your pain.

Unhurried time with God through guided prayer, worship, reflection spaces, and moments of holy stillness.

Authentic community with other moms who understand your journey, your grief, your fierce love, and your longing for more.

Creative experiences and gentle surprises designed to delight your soul, spark joy, and remind you that you are worth pouring into.

Rest—real, soul-deep rest that meets you in the burnout and invites you back to life.

You won’t leave “fixed.”

But you will leave filled with renewed strength, sacred connection, and a fresh awareness that God is with you in this.

HEY,
I’m
Rachael!

A speaker, writer, podcaster, and ministry founder passionate about creating spaces of true belonging for families raising children with disabilities. As the heart behind A Little Extra Love and the Inclusive Pathways program, I’ve had the honor of equipping hundreds of families and churches to walk this journey with faith, dignity, and hope. But more than any title, I’m a mom, raising two boys, one with Down syndrome, autism, and complex medical needs, and a girls’ girl at heart who believes in deep friendship, honest conversations, and cheering each other on.

I created Revive because I know what it’s like to give everything for your family and quietly wonder if there’s anything left for you. This retreat is my invitation to you—to come as you are, exhale, reconnect with God, and remember you’re not walking this road alone.

• Check-out: Sunday at 10:00 AM

Will the food be provided?

All meals from Thursday dinner through Sunday breakfast are provided, with thoughtful options for dietary needs.

Sleeping Arrangements:

We’ve created several cozy sleeping options to help you feel at home, whether you’re coming with close friends or stepping out in faith to come alone.

When you register, you’ll be able to select your preference:

  • Share a king or queen bed with a friend
  • Request a bed space in a shared room
  • Stay in the bunk room with a group of other mamas

If you’re coming with a friend, you’ll have a chance to request each other as roommates.
If you’re coming solo, we’ll thoughtfully match you with women based on your “Get to Know You” form—considering personality, life stage, and space preferences.

Whether it’s late-night chats or quiet, restful space, your room is part of the sacred experience we’re praying over already.

How many people will be attending?

We’re keeping Revive intentionally small and sacred. There will be a maximum of 40 attendees:

  • 20 Overnight Guests
  • 20 Day Pass Attendees

This smaller group size allows for deeper connection, shared conversation, and personal encouragement throughout the weekend. It also means I’ll be able to offer individual support and guidance as we move through a value-packed agenda—full of practical tools, spiritual depth, and space to reflect.

You won’t get lost in the crowd. You’ll be seen, supported, and spiritually refreshed.

What do the experiences include?

At Revive, every experience is intentionally designed to create space for both rest and joy, offering your soul a gentle place to land. You’ll visit the peaceful therapy farm of Bella Terra Farms, where nature, animals, and stillness offer quiet healing. You’ll take a guided hike through Garden of the Gods, surrounded by stunning mountain views that speak to God’s majesty and nearness. During our slower moments, you’ll enjoy guided Bible journaling sessions, with beautiful craft materials provided to help you engage with Scripture in creative, meaningful ways. To care for your body as well as your soul, we’ll offer pampering experiences like chair massages and facials, reminding you that restoration includes physical rest too. And for a little fun? We’ll have thoughtful surprises, and sweet touches throughout the weekend—because joy, connection, and beauty matter deeply in the presence of God.

Overnight Spots Are Limited…But You’ve Got Options!

Did I mention the icing on the cake?

Here's who you're learning from….

In addition to hearing from A Little Extra Love founder and Revive Retreat host  Rachael Vermeulen, you’ll also learn from a group of trusted speakers and leaders—women who are raising children with disabilities and leading beautifully, both online and in their own spaces of ministry. They bring real-life wisdom, steady faith, and the kind of hope that’s been lived out in the fire.

Ebie Hepworth

Ebie is a writer, speaker, and podcaster whose heart beats for hope—even when life feels heavy. As a mama of four, (One with duchenne's muscular dystrophy) and a passionate storyteller, she cultivates spaces where leveling with grief opens the door to trusting God's steadfast faithfulness.

Jen Butler

Jen is the co-founder of Ability Tree, a nonprofit serving families impacted by disability with Christ-centered support, recreation, and training. After her son Micah’s diagnosis, Jen’s world shifted and so did her calling. She now walks closely with moms who are newer to the journey, helping them find their footing in faith, even as they grieve the story they thought they’d have. With compassion, wisdom, and gospel-centered truth, Jen’s heart is to guide women toward hope—not just in the outcome, but in the God who is with them in every unknown.

Jill Comer

Jill is a mom of four, and her youngest son, Garret, has Down syndrome. For over a decade, she has faithfully walked alongside families in the disability space through her work with Friends of Club 21 and her years of ministry with her local church. Jill carries the heart of Mary and the hands of Martha—anchored in faith, deeply present, and unafraid to step into the mess and beauty of real life. She has a passion for discipling women through marriage, motherhood, and the layers of an unexpected story.

You’ll Walk Away With

Spiritual renewal that doesn’t depend on your circumstances, just the steady presence of God who meets you in the middle of it all.

Fresh perspective on your identity, not just as a caregiver, but as a deeply loved daughter of God with purpose and calling.

Biblical tools and encouragement to carry into your daily rhythms, helping you move forward with peace, not pressure.

Meaningful connection with 39 other moms raising children with disabilities. Friendships rooted in faith, honesty, and shared experience.

A rested soul, not because everything is fixed, but because you allowed yourself to rest in the presence of the One who carries it all with you.

Ready to Be Revived?

You’ve carried so much for so long.
You’ve shown up, stayed strong, and kept going, often in silence, often unseen.

But God sees you. He knows the way that you take.
And when the fire feels like too much, He invites you to rest, to reconnect, and to be refined…. not by striving, but by His presence.

Revive isn’t just a retreat.
It’s a sacred space to breathe again,
to remember who you are,
and to let God meet you in the middle of it all.

Spots are limited. The invitation is open.
You belong here.
